My name is Oliver and I started part-time with TiasNimbas Business School in Bonn in September 2009.

I am a Biomedical Engineer by training and have worked for more than ten years with US companies in the area of artificial organs. I live in Berlin, but travel all around Europe in my current position as Director of European Clinical Support for a medical device company.

When I was looking for an MBA program, I was mainly focused on an internationally ranked business school that had a long history of teaching and a large alumni network. Initially, I contacted several Universities / Business Schools in my immediate area to avoid the logistics of being at a facility that was too far from my home.

I wasn’t very impressed with what I found.  I then contacted TiasNimbas Business School which was originally on the top of my favorites list, but was not within close distance to my home. I was very pleased with the assistance and the effectiveness of the program.

Because I have limited spare time and a good support network means a lot to me, I chose TiasNimbas, despite the distance. The required compulsory attendance time for the program is condensed to a longer weekend once a month.

I have been to modules in Utrecht and Bonn so far. I do enjoy being out for the modules. When I am away from my home office, I can better concentrate on the lectures and have no chance of being able to reach my desk after lecture is finished .

I am staying at the hotel with my fellow students from abroad and we either talk about the modules or go bowling in the evening.

To me, the unique personal development plan at TiasNimbas Business School is very important. Parallel to the business knowledge from the lectures, you learn techniques for team building; receive personal mentoring to enhance your own performance such as clearly defining your personal goals and gaining strategies to accomplish them.
